August 24 marks the 31st year of Ukraine’s independence. It’s also been exactly six months of our glorious struggle for freedom against Russia.
This year, the celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day should be heard worldwide, but not all of us can gather today. Millions of our loved ones stay abroad fleeing the war, and mass events are canceled in Ukraine due to the risk of missile attacks.
United with AI
But we still want to be united on this day. In partnership with the charity platform UNITED24, Reface is launching the virtual Independence Walk, inviting anyone to join from anywhere in the world with the help of AI.
On the project website, you can make a face swap, add friends or celebrities to your personalized video of the march, and share the result on social media. As the background you can choose among Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Donetsk, Simferopol, Mariupol, and others.
The Independence Walk is another opportunity to save the lives of Ukrainians. We set a symbolic donation of $24 for participation, and we’ll transfer the collected money to purchase ambulances urgently needed to save our citizens.
This isn’t the first social initiative created with Reface technology. We held a virtual march against animal abuse in 2020 during the pandemic, when mass events were forbidden.
"Unfortunately, today, we have a much worse enemy than coronavirus – Russia. But Ukraine is a young democratic state that values its independence, and on this day, we want to show how many of us believe in victory. We are very proud that our face swap technology helps to implement such a bright idea and unites everyone who supports Ukraine, albeit virtually", says Reface’s CEO and co-founder Dima Shvets.
You can join the Independence Walk by donating before August 31.
🇺🇦 Happy Independence Day, Ukraine! We are fighting together, helping together, and will win together. And see ya at the virtual march.
